For almost 13 years Wall to Wall Interiors has been assisting
owners with the decorating of their homes and rental condo units. We offer
everything you need to make the decorating process a success, including
an expert staff to oversee the entire project. We sincerely hope the hints
and information listed below will be helpful.
Furniture
One of the biggest mistakes owners make when purchasing furniture
is to sacrifice quality for price. A little research in this department
can really pay off. Upholstered pieces should be covered with a fabric
which will clean easily and resist sunfading. Alwyas try to get woven
instead of printed fabrics. Look for some of the new acrylics, olefins
and polyester blends in addition to the traditional cottons. These fibers
add strength and cleanbility, and are less likely to sunfade a fast as
100% cotton. Sleeper sofas should have at least a 5" innerspring
mattress and a commercial mechanism is advisable as the unit could be
opened and closed 365 times in one year!
Dining tables and occasional tables should be easily cleanable. We do
not advise "free-floating" glass tops on any table (this means
a piece of glass sitting freely on some sort of base) as this can be an
accident waiting to happen. You may want to invest in some coasters where
you think renters may put down a sweaty glass.
Bedroom
furniture should be attractive and functional. Remember to concentrate
on the master bedroom, as this is likely the quarters for the person who
will pay the bill and re-book your unit next year. A dirty or faded bedspread
is the worst possible turnoff! Pillows and mattresses should still have
their original shape.
The balcony furniture should be an extension of the interior of your unit
as your renter will spend a lot of time enjoying our beautiful views.
Ask your rental agent what is recommended in your complex.
