For almost 13 years Wall to Wall Interiors has been assisting
owners with the decorating of their homes and rental condo units. We offer
everything you need to make the decorating process a success, including
an expert staff to oversee the entire project. We sincerely hope the hints
and information listed below will be helpful.
Draperies
We
are having great success with our new GROMMETTED draperies. They hang
beautifully, require less fabric, and take up less space in the window
than most vertical blinds. The large rings are made of PVC and are directly
inserted into the drapery panels. They
slide freely when installed on a 2" wood pole, thus eliminating any
mechanisms and pins to contend with. Removal for drycleaning is a simple
process. We also recommend pinch-pleated drapes installed on a commercial
architect rod. Our design is a 2 finger pleat system, which again requires
less fabric and less space in the window. Fabric selection is entirely
up to you, however, we steer clear of things like polished chinz, as it
will wrinkle easily when handled.
Vertical Blinds
These blinds allow you to cover a large opening without completely
blocking the light, but they can be a real headache. The only vertical
blind we will install in a rental unit is the new "auto-wand"
system. The headrail is much heavier and there are no weights or chains
to contend with. The vanes are moved and rotated with a wand, much like
that on an architect rod. Replacement parts are readily available.
Horizontal Blinds
We have had great succes with the new two-inch composite blinds.
They are wood on the inside for stability and vinyl to the outside for
cleanability. They are lighter in weight than metal, wood or vinyl and
guaranteed not to warp or fade. Best of all, they have a cord tilt mechanism
eliminating problems with a broken or missing wand.
